We are a society with over 60 members who meet on a Monday night in Corfe Mullen to rehearse together. All ages are welcome.
- Do you play – or are you learning – a musical instrument?
- Do you like the idea of playing for the fun of it with a friendly group of people?
- Would you like to play in an orchestra, but are a bit (or completely!) out of practice?
As a community orchestra we aim never to turn anyone away, or to have limits on the number of instruments in any section. We do not require any specific grade or level of experience, just an ability to read music, a reasonable knowledge of the instrument, and a willingness to join in and make music with others.
String players are always particularly welcome, but we accept all orchestral and band instruments and can provide suitably transposed parts. We also own a double bass, several violins, and a piccolo, all of which are available for loan to any potential member lacking one.
All adult members pay a monthly subscription of £5 by standing order. School pupils and students in full-time education currently pay NO SUBSCRIPTION! We have had several members of school age, and are always pleased to welcome more.
For further information about the orchestra please email the Director of Music (johnt5373@gmail.com), ring 01258 455403, or join our open Facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/groups/42649044800/ .
